Ever watched the BYU Dunk Team at a sporting event or school activity and thought "I want to do that!" Well, here is your opportunity! BYU is looking for more members to join the BYU Dunk Team! Particularly, those outstanding individuals that want to showcase their abilities and school pride as well as be part of the ever important role of supporting Cosmo the Cougar.

Tryouts
BYU On-Campus Tryouts:
Fall Semester tryouts will be held on September 11, 2024. Tryouts will begin at 2:30pm and continue until around 6.
Tryouts will be held in room 149 of Smith Fieldhouse at BYU ( you need to have a waiver) (if you miss tryouts or are unable to make tryouts please contact David Eberhard at cosmo@byu.edu)(you may also want to submit a video for tryouts)
If you make the dunk team, We practice Tueday's and Thursday's from 3pm - 5pm in the fall and winter semesters. We also, have cougar built shows on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am-12pm. If you make the dunk team you will be asked to perform at one or the other. (Tuesdays or Thursdays) If you make it to be Cosmo, we'll practice, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:30 to 5:30pm
Summer practice schedule is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-1:30 pm.

Below are the requirements and skills we look for as members of the BYU Dunk Team. It is important to note that all skills listed aren't required. As a team, we take athleticism and turn it into things that we do as a dunk team.
*Not all skills are required, but the more you can do, the more you will stand out! Many of the skills listed aren't used for dunking; however, we incorporate them into our shows to add more excitement. One skill that most athletes don't have exposure to is jumping off of mini trampolines. Athleticism plays a large role in learning this.

Requirements
Enrolled at BYU (applied is also acceptable for tryouts)
2.0 GPA or higher
Compliant with BYU Honor Code
Controlled Air Awareness and Athleticism
Positive Attitude and Service Oriented
Familiarity with using Mini Trampolines a plus
Availability on Weekends for Dunk Shows
